Schools of Research Science in Dubai launched the Street Maths initiative, an educational experience designed to make learning mathematics more engaging and accessible through practical application and direct interaction beyond the classroom.
The initiative reflects SRS’s belief that mathematics is best understood when students experience it actively through movement, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving.
Outdoor spaces within Schools of Research Science were transformed into active learning environments, where students solved mathematical equations directly on the ground through movement and teamwork.
Across the event, participation was high and engagement was evident.
Mathematics shifted from a classroom subject into a shared experience one characterised by enthusiasm, collaboration, and hands-on learning, with both students and teachers actively involved throughout the activities.
The Street Maths initiative had a clear and positive impact on student engagement and confidence in mathematics.
Students demonstrated stronger participation, improved problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of how mathematics connects to everyday life supporting continued learning back in the classroom.
